Loves in loves

The performance is inspired by the life and work of Aldona Gustas (1932-2022), a Lithuanian poet and artist who lived in Berlin.

“Each line is a love connection between thought and hand,” she is convinced. Works of art appear in a peculiar state of trance. Closing her eyes in front of a sheet of paper, as if guided by the hand of God, the artist draws a line. This line A. Gustas connects the subconscious with the performed movement, with the paper, like two edges of a freshly made wound. The drawing is born in the “first grip”, revealing her exceptional talent.
