Meet Adam Walicki – a composer, guitarist, and graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw.
🎭 Adam began his musical journey by studying jazz at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, later expanding his expertise in electronic music at the IRCAM Institute in Paris. He has composed music for nearly 20 films, including internationally acclaimed works such as In the Name Of… and Mug (directed by Małgorzata Szumowska), which received prestigious awards, including prizes at the Berlinale Film Festival. Adam is also a member of the European Film Academy.
Walicki’s creativity extends beyond film—he has contributed to theatrical and dance projects as well. A significant collaboration was with Krzysztof Warlikowski’s Nowy Teatr, where the performance Nancy, directed and choreographed by Claude Bardouil, was staged in various European theaters, including Théâtre Chaillot in Paris. Another key project with Bardouil was Exhausted.
His creative partnership with Jacek Przybyłowicz includes projects such as Humani Corporis Fabrica (premiered in Warsaw, 2021), Der Moment (presented in July 2023 in Mexico at Palacio de Bellas Artes), and Aire Sakona (2024), created for the dance company Danzaz, based in San Sebastián, Spain.
Adam Walicki is also working with choreographer Jacek Przybyłowicz and Kaunas Dance Theatre Aura to compose the soundtrack for a new performance, Dausos, which will be presented at the end of the season.
